Isaiah 25 Vs 4-5 (AMP)

MONDAY 28 THERE WILL BE SUDDEN STORMS IN LIFE, BUT WHEN THEY COME, BE NOT AFRAID—THE
MASTER IS STILL IN THE BOAT OF YOUR STORMS! “Then Jesus got into the boat and started
across the lake with his disciples. 24 Suddenly, a fierce storm struck the lake, with waves
breaking into the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. 25 The disciples went and woke him up,
shouting, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!” 26 Jesus responded, “Why are you afraid? You have so little faith!” Then he got up and rebuked the wind and waves, and suddenly there was a great calm. 27 The disciples were amazed. “Who is this man?” they asked. “Even the winds and waves obey him!”

TUESDAY 29 IN THE MIDST OF THE STORM, TRUST GOD—HE IS MERCIFUL TO SAVE AND DELIVER!
“Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me, for in you my soul takes refuge; in the shadow
of your wings I will take refuge, till the storms of destruction pass by. 2 I cry out to God Most
High, to God who fulfills his purpose for me. 3 He will send from heaven and save me; he will put to shame him who tramples on me. Selah God will send out his steadfast love and his faithfulness!”

Prayer has power to save you from your storms and distresses of life! Just cry out to the Lord— He is still the Deliverer. “LORD, help!” they cried in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress. 29 He calmed the storm to a whisper and stilled the waves. 30 What a blessing was that stillness as he brought them safely into harbor!”

I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand. 11“See, all your angry enemies lie there, confused and humiliated. Anyone who opposes you will die and come to nothing. 12 You will look in vain for those who tried to conquer you. Those who attack you will come to nothing. 13 For I hold you by your right hand—I, the LORD your God. And I say to you, ‘Don’t be afraid. I am here to help you.”
Isaiah 41 Vs 10-13(NLT)

FRIDAY 2 GOD IS AN EVER-PRESENT HELP AND A STRONGHOLD IN THE DAY OF TROUBLE!
“The LORD is good, a strength and stronghold in the day of trouble; He knows [He recognizes, cares for, and understands fully] those who take refuge and trust in Him. 8 But with an overwhelming flood [of judgment through invading armies] He will make a complete destruction of its site and will pursue His enemies into darkness.” Please continue to be encouraged to pray in accordance with the 40-Day Prayer and Fasting Calendar

And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. 40 And he said unto them, why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?”

Be Spiritually Minded

SCRIPTURE READINGS FOR SEPTEMBER 20-26, 2020
MEDITATION: BE SPIRITUALLY MINDED

“Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God. 9 You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ. 10 But if Christ is in you, then even though your body is subject to death because of sin, the Spirit gives life because of righteousness. 11 And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.” ROMANS 8:8-11(NIV)

Sunday 20 Joel 2
Monday 21 2 Thessalonians 3
Tuesday 22 1 Corinthians 15
Wednesday 23 Ephesians 4
Thursday 24 Romans 13
Friday 25 2 Chronicles 34
Saturday 26 John 6

DAILY FOCUS

SUNDAY 20 SPIRITUALLY MINDED CHILDREN OF GOD EXPRESS “AWE-FILLED REVERENCE” FOR HIM
Then those who feared the LORD [with awe-filled reverence] spoke to one another; and the LORD paid attention and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before Him of those who fear the LORD [with an attitude of reverence and respect] and who esteem His name. 17 “They will be Mine,” says the LORD of hosts, “on that day when I publicly recognize them and openly declare them to be My own possession [that is, My very special treasure]. And I will have compassion on them and spare them as a man spares his own son who serves him.”
Malachi 3 Vs 16-17 (AMP)

MONDAY 21 WALK IN THE SPIRIT!
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23
gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. 24 Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit. 26 Let us not become boastful, challenging one another, envying one another.”
Galatians 5 Vs 22-26 (NASB)

TUESDAY 22 THE SPIRITUALLY MINDED DELIGHTS IN DOING THE WILL OF GOD; THEY WALK IN ONENESS OF SPIRIT
“For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. 13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.”
1 Corinth 12 Vs 12-13 (KJV)

WEDNESDAY 23 PRAYING IN THE SPIRIT SPIRITUALLY BUILDS US UP!
“But you, beloved, build yourselves up on [the foundation of] your most holy faith [continually progress, rise like an edifice higher and higher], pray in the Holy Spirit, 21 and keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting anxiously and looking forward to the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ [which will bring you] to eternal life. 22 And have mercy on some, who are doubting; 23 save others, snatching them out of the fire; and on some havemercy but with fear, loathing even the clothing spotted and polluted by their shameless immoral freedom.” Pray for the gospel of Jesus Christ to take full course all around the world—reaching souls everywhere!
Jude 1 Vs 20-23 (AMP)

THURSDAY 24 LET NOT YOUR MIND BE GOVERNED BY THE FLESH—THE FLESHLY MINDED CANNOT PLEASE GOD!
“The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. 7 The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. 8 Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God.”
Romans 8 Vs 6-8 (KJV)

FRIDAY 25 THOSE WHO DWELL IN SPIRITUAL SLEEPINESS IS UNAWARE OF WHAT GOD IS SAYING! INCLINE YOUR EARS AND HEAR THE WORD: “This is the reason I speak to the crowds in parables: because while [having the power of] seeing they do not see, and while [having the power of] hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand and grasp [spiritual things]. 14 In them the prophecy of Isaiah is being fulfilled, which says, ‘you will hear and keep on hearing, but never understand; and you will look and keep on looking, but never comprehend; 15 for this nation’s heart has grown hard, and with their ears they hardly hear, and they have [tightly] closed their eyes, otherwise they would see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and Turn [to me]and i would heal them [spiritually].’ 16 But blessed [spiritually aware, and favored by God] are your eyes,
because they see; and your ears, because they hear. 17 I assure you and most solemnly say to you, many prophets and righteous men [who were honorable and in right standing with God] longed to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it. ”
Matthew 13 Vs 13-17 (AMP)

SATURDAY 26 CHILDREN OF THE MOST-HIGH GOD SPIRITUALLY LIVE AND FEED ON HIS WORD!
“Oh, the joys of those who do not follow evil men’s advice, who do not hang around with sinners, scoffing at the things of God. 2 But they delight in doing everything God wants them to, and day and night are always meditating on his laws and thinking about ways to follow him more closely. 3 They are like trees along a riverbank bearing luscious fruit each season without fail. Their leaves shall never wither, and all they do shall prosper.”
Psalm 1 Vs 1-3 (TLB)

WORD OF ENCOURAGEMENT: Galatians 5:16 (KJV) says: “This I say then, walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.”

Monday 14 Daniel 6
Tuesday 15 2 Chronicles 6
Wednesday 16 Job 28
Thursday 17 Mark 13
Friday 18 Luke 21
Saturday 19 Mark 9

DAILY FOCUS

SUNDAY 13 THE WORD OF GOD TELLS US WHY SUPPLICATIONS, PRAYERS, INTERCESSIONS AND GIVING OF THANKS ARE TO BE MADE FOR ALL MEN! “I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men; 2For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; 4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of
the truth.” 1 Timothy 2 Vs.1-4

MONDAY 14 IT IS OF IMPORTANCE TO PRAY FOR UNITY OF THE FAITH AND FOR THE BODY OF CHRIST “Until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ. 14 As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming; 15 but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ, 16 from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love.”
Ephesians 4 13-16 (NASB)

TUESDAY 15 LET US SEEK THE LORD IN HUMILITY AND PRAY THAT HE BRINGS HEALING TO THE NATIONS OF THIS WORLD “Then the LORD appeared to Solomon by night and said to him: “I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for Myself as a house of sacrifice. 13 If I shut up the heavens so that no rain falls, or if I command locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence and plague among My people, 14 and My people, who are called by My Name, humble themselves, and pray and seek (crave, require as a necessity) My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear [them] from heaven, and forgive their sin and heal their land. 15Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayer offered in this place.” 2 Chronicles 7 Vs 12-15 (AMP)

WEDNESDAY 16 BE STEADFAST IN PRAYER AND REMEMBER TO PRAY FOR GOD’S PEOPLE EVERYWHERE “I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers; 17 [I always pray] that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may grant you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation [that gives you a deep and personal and intimate insight] into the true knowledge of Him [for we know the Father through the Son]. 18And [I pray] that the eyes of your heart [the very center and core of your being] may be enlightened [flooded with light by the Holy Spirit], so that you will know and cherish the hope [the divine guarantee, the confident expectation] to which He has called you,
the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints (God’s people).” If ever a time we need to pray, it’s now! Pray in accordance with the 40-Day Prayer Calendar.
Ephesians 1 Vs 16-18 (AMP)

THURSDAY 17 THE COMING OF THE LORD IS VERY NEAR—OUR DUTY IS TO WATCH AND PRAY!
“Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is. 34 For the Son of Man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch. 35 Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning: 36 Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping. 37 And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.”
Mark 13 Vs 33-37(KJV)

FRIDAY1 8 PRAY FOR SPIRITUAL DISCERNMENT IN THESE EXTREME TROUBLED TIMES “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2 By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, 3 and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you heard was coming and now is in the world already. 4 Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. 5 They are from the world; therefore, they speak from the world, and the world listens to them. 6 We are from God. Whoever knows God listens to us; whoever is not from God does not listen to us. By this we know the Spirit of truth and the spirit of error.”
1 John 4 1-6 (ESV)

SATURDAY 19 PRAY FOR OUR LOST FAMILY MEMBERS AND FOR LOST SOULS ALL AROUND THE WORLD “And I saw a great white throne and the one sitting on it. The earth and sky fled from his presence, but they found no place to hide. 12 I saw the dead, both great and small, standing before God’s throne. And the books were opened, including the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to what they had done, as recorded in the books. 13 The sea gave up its dead, and death and the grave gave up their dead. And all were judged according to their deeds. 14 Then death and the grave were thrown into the lake of
fire. This lake of fire is the second death. 15 And anyone whose name was not found recorded in the Book of Life was thrown into the lake of fire.”
Revelation 20 11-15 (KJV)

WORD OF ENCOURAGEMENT: Philippians 4:6 (KJV) says: “Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.”

Monday 7 Matthew 4
Tuesday 8 Hebrews 4
Wednesday 9 James 5
Thursday 10 Job 23
Friday 11 John 1
Saturday 12 Revelation 21

DAILY FOCUS

SUNDAY 6
THE WORD OF GOD IS TRUTH AND LIFE, AS BELIEVERS, IT MUST DWELL RICHLY IN US!
“15 Let the peace of Christ [the inner calm of one who walks daily with Him] be the controlling factor in your hearts [deciding and settling questions that arise]. To this peace indeed you were called as members in one body [of believers]. And be thankful [to God always]. 16 Let the [spoken] word of Christ have its home within you [dwelling in your heart and mind—permeating every aspect of your being] as you teach [spiritual things] and admonish and train one another with all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs with thankfulness in your hearts to God. 17 Whatever you do [no matter what it is] in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus [and in dependence on Him], giving thanks to God the Father through Him.”
Colossians 3 Vs 15-17 (AMP)

MONDAY 7
DON’T BE SUBJECTED TO LIVE BY THE FLESH—BE RULED BY THE TRUE WORD!
“Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. 2 And after He had fasted forty days and forty nights, Heathen became hungry. 3 And the tempter came and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.” 4 But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘MAN SHALL NOT LIVE ON BREAD ALONE, BUT ON EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDS OUT OF THE MOUTH OF GOD.’”
Matthew 4 Vs 1-4 (NASB)

TUESDAY 8
THE WORD OF GOD IS POWERFUL—FULLY EQUIPPED WITH SUPERNATURAL POWER!
“For the word of God is living and active and full of power [making it operative, energizing, and effective]. It is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating as far as the division of the soul and spirit [the completeness of a person], and of both joints and marrow [the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and judging the very thoughts and intentions of the heart. 13 And not a creature exists that is concealed from His sight, but all things are open and exposed, and revealed to the eyes of Him with whom we have to give account.”
Hebrews 4 Vs 12-13 (AMP)

WEDNESDAY 9
IT IS WRITTEN, PRAY—PRAYER HAS THE POTENTIAL TO ACCOMPLISH MUCH!
“Is anyone among you suffering? He must pray. Is anyone joyful? He is to sing praises [to God]. 14 Is anyone among you sick? He must call for the elders (spiritual leaders) of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; 15 and the prayer of faith will restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up; and if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. 16 Therefore, confess your sins to one another [your false steps, your offenses], and pray for one another, that you may be healed and restored. The heartfelt and persistent prayer of a righteous man (believer) can accomplish much [when put into action and made effective by God— it is dynamic and can have tremendous power].” Pray as the Spirit of God leads you…
James 5 Vs 13-16 (AMP)

THURSDAY 10 TREASURE THE WORD OF GOD ABOVE EVERYTHING ELSE “But he knows the way that I take; when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold. 11 My feet have closely followed his steps; I have kept to his way without turning aside. 12 I have not departed from the commands of his lips; I have treasured the words of his mouth more than my daily bread.” Job 23 Vs 10-12 (NIV)

FRIDAY 11 JESUS IS THE ONLY TRUE AND LIVING WORD “In the beginning [before all time] was the Word ([a]Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself. 2He was [continually existing] in the beginning [co-eternally] with God. 3All things were made and came into existence through Him; and without Him not even one thing was made that has come into being. 4 In Him was life [and the power to bestow life], and the life was the Light of men. 5 The Light shines on in the darkness, and the darkness did not understand it or overpower it or appropriate it or absorb it [and is unreceptive to it].”
John 1 Vs 1-5 (AMP)

SATURDAY 12 GOD’S WORD IS ETERNALLY FAITHFUL “And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. 4And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. 5And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. 6 And he said unto me, it is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.”
Rev 21 Vs 3-6 (KJV)

WORD OF ENCOURAGEMENT Proverbs 30:5-6 (KJV) says: “Every word of God is pure: He is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee and thou be found a liar.”

SUNDAY 30
STAY FOCUSED—MEDITATE AND LET THE WORD OF GOD PERMEATE YOUR BEING
Everything in life has a terminal point, including our very own lives. We live today for what we will achieve tomorrow—eternal life. We have been given the fundamental elements of truth in the word of God. We must feed our spirits on God’s word by daily reading it, meditating on it, and living in obedience to it! “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt
make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”
JOSHUA 1 Vs 8 (KJV)

MONDAY 31
ALWAYS BE ALERT—DIFFICULT TIMES WILL DEFINITELY SHOW UP
It’s a fact that hard times will come, trouble will arise, and circumstances will get a hold of us from time to time but we must remain focused and quite vigilant. The enemy will never give up on trying to steal, kill and to destroy you, but thanks be unto God who is on our side and who has given us the necessary weapons to fight like soldiers on the battlefields. Remember, your faith will be tested but it will cause you to persevere and produce steadfastness, so rejoice in the midst of trials. James says to: “Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, 3 for you know that the testing of
your faith produces steadfastness. 4 And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.”
JAMES 1 Vs 2-4 (ESV)

TUESDAY 1
YOUR FAITH WILL SURELY BE TESTED
Trials and tribulations are a test of our faith. They may sometimes get you down but remain strong in the Lord! In the midst of pain and suffering, keep on believing the word of God. We have every promise of God; therefore, we must keep on trusting in Him—No matter how tough things get, don’t give up! Never will He leave you; never will He forsake you, so be patient and do not take matters into your own hands—God is more than able to see you through. “In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, 7 so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.”
1 Peter 1 Vs 6-7 (ESV)

WEDNESDAY 2
STAY ALERT AND REMAIN DILIGENT IN PRAYER
Have you ever noticed that when you are getting ready to do the things of God, all kinds of distractions arise? Oh yes! All of a sudden, the phone is ringing, text messages dropping in your inbox, someone ringing the doorbell—I mean myriads of interruptions! You would even start to wonder if you turned off the stove—and the list goes on… Stop the insanity and Rebuke the spirit of distraction! Give your undivided attention to God! The end of all things is near. “Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.” Pray for each other’s faith to remain strong, spiritual discernment, the body of Christ, all our
unsaved family members, as well as the lost world.
LUKE 21 Vs 36 (KJV)

THURSDAY 3
ETERNAL LIFE IS A GIFT FROM GOD—KEEP YOUR EYES ON JESUS!
God has given us so many precious and wonderful gifts. The ultimate gift of all is salvation/eternal life through His son, Jesus. When we accept Him as Lord of our life, eternal life is given unto us. Make no mistake about this: Jesus did not die on the cross for nothing! He came to seek and to save the lost. Now that we are saved, we must invest everything in Him so that we do not have to face eternal punishment/torment, but instead, we will have an eternal life of peace…
MATTHEW 25 Read: Vs 41-46

FRIDAY 4
BE FIRM, STEADFAST AND UNMOVABLE—SERVING THE LORD IS CERTAINLY NOT IN VAIN
The evil works of the devil are constant—He is working overtime to try and destroy everyone. Remain true to God and focused on what is ahead… “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord,
forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.”
1 CORINTH 15 Vs 58 (KJV)

SATURDAY 5
THE END IS NEAR— DO NOT BE DISTRACTED!
Jesus warned us that sorrowful days will come in the last day. There will be wars and rumors of wars, and an abundance of wickedness shall take place. Many around the world are being killed and persecuted for the sake of the gospel, but He has told us to “be not troubled.” We must remain focused as these things must come to pass before the end of times. MATTHEW 24 Read: Vs 6-14

WORD OF ENCOURAGEMENT: Colossians 3:2 (AMP) says: “Set your mind and keep focused habitually on the things above [the heavenly things],
things that are on the earth [which have only temporal value].”

Whenever you receive a message from me, warn people immediately. 18 If I warn the wicked, saying, ‘You are under the penalty of death,’ but you fail to deliver the warning, they will die in their sins. And I will hold you responsible for their deaths. 19 If you warn them and they refuse to repent and keep on sinning, they will die in their sins. Why Should We Pray?

SCRIPTURE READINGS FOR AUGUST 16-22, 2020
MEDITATION OF THE WEEK: WHY SHOULD WE PRAY?

“With all prayer and petition pray [with specific requests] at all times [on every occasion and in every season] in the Spirit, and with this in view, stay alert with all perseverance and petition [interceding in prayer] for all God’s people. 19 And pray for me, that words may be given to me when I open my mouth, to proclaim boldly the mystery of the good news [of salvation], 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains. And pray that in proclaiming it I may speak boldly and courageously, as I should.” EPHESIANS 6:18-20 (AMP)

Sunday 16 Psalm 18
Monday 17 Jeremiah 29
Tuesday 18 James 5
Wednesday 19 Hebrews 4
Thursday 20 John 15
Friday 21 Matthew 6
Saturday 22 Colossians 4

DAILY FOCUS

SUNDAY 16 PRAYER OF WORSHIP TO GOD IS VERY IMPORTANT 13“But as for me, my prayer is to You, O LORD, at an acceptable and opportune time; O God, in the greatness of Your favor and in the abundance of Your lovingkindness, Answer me with truth [that is, the faithfulness of Your salvation]…30 I will praise the name of God with song And magnify Him with thanksgiving. 31 And it will please the LORD better than an ox Or a young
bull with horns and hoofs…33 For the LORD hears the needy and does not despise His who are prisoners 34 Let heaven and earth praise Him, the seas and everything that moves in them.” Psalm 69 13-34 (AMP)

MONDAY 17 PRAYER SPIRITUALLY FORTIFIES THE SOUL “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They
shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40 Vs 31(TLB)

TUESDAY 18 PRAYER CHANGES CIRCUMSTANCES
“In Joppa there was a disciple named Tabitha (in Greek her name is Dorcas); she was always doing good and helping the poor. 37 About that time she became sick and died, and her body was washed and placed in an upstairs room. 38 Lydda was near Joppa; so when the disciples heard that Peter was in Lydda, they sent two men to him and urged him, “Please come at once!” 39 Peter went with them, and when he arrived he was taken
upstairs to the room. All the widows stood around him, crying and showing him the robes and other clothing that Dorcas had made while she was still with them. 40 Peter sent them all out of the room; then he got down on his knees and prayed. Turning toward the dead woman, he said, “Tabitha, get up.” She opened her eyes, and seeing Peter she sat up.”
Acts 9 36-40(NIV)

WEDNESDAY 19 ALWAYS REMEMBER TO PRAY FOR OTHERS!
“After the LORD had said these things to Job, he said to Eliphaz the Temanite, “I am angry with you and your two friends, because you have not spoken the truth about me, as my servant Job has. 8 So now take seven bulls and seven rams and go to my servant Job and sacrifice a burnt offering for yourselves. My servant Job will pray for you, and I will accept his prayer and not deal with you according to your folly. You have not
spoken the truth about me, as my servant Job has.” 9 So Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite did what the LORD told them; and the LORD accepted Job’s prayer. 10 After Job had prayed for his friends, the LORD restored his fortunes and gave him twice as much as he had before.” Pray for the sick, the homeless, the oppressed; the weak & weary, also for lost souls. Pray throughout the day. JOB 42 7-10(NIV)

THURSDAY 20 PRAYER IS A MIGHTY, POWERFUL, SPIRITUAL WEAPON!
“The weapons of our warfare are not physical [weapons of flesh and blood]. Our weapons are divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. 5We are destroying sophisticated arguments and every exalted and proud thing that sets itself up against the [true] knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought and purpose captive to the obedience of Christ, 6 being ready to punish every act of disobedience, when your own
obedience [as a church] is complete.” 2 COR 10 4-6(AMP)

FRIDAY 21 AS BELIEVERS, GOD WILL HOLD US RESPONSIBLE IF WE DO NOT PRAY FOR THAT WHICH HE HAS ASKED US TO “First of all, then, I urge that petitions (specific requests), prayers, intercessions (prayers for others) and thanksgivings be offered on behalf of all people, 2
for kings and all who are in [positions of] high authority, so that we may live a peaceful and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. 3 This [kind of praying] is good and
acceptable and pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who [wishes all people to be saved and to come to the
knowledge and recognition of the [divine] truth.”
1 Tim 2 1-4 (AMP)

SATURDAY 22 NEVER STOP PRAYING! WHEN YOU FAIL TO PRAY, IT WILL NOT ONLY GIVE SATAN ROOM IN YOUR LIFE, BUT IN YOUR FAMILY’S, YOUR LOVE ONES’ AND THOSE WHO ARE CONNECTED AND ASSOCIATED TO YOU “Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil.” Ephesians 6:11(NIV)

WORD OF ENCOURAGEMENT: JAMES 5:16 (NLT). “Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.”

The Power of God!

SCRIPTURE READINGS FOR AUGUST 9-15, 2020
MEDITATION OF THE WEEK: THE POWER OF GOD

Job 11:7-10 (AMP) states: “Can you find out the deep things of God, or can you by searching find out the limits of the Almighty [explore His depths, ascend to His heights, extend to His breadths, and comprehend His infinite perfection]? 8 His wisdom is as high as the heights of heaven! What can you do? It is deeper than Sheol (the place of the dead)! What can you know? 9 Longer in measure [and scope] is it than the earth, and broader than the sea. 10 If [God] sweeps in and arrests and calls into judgment, who can hinder Him? [If He is against a man, who shall call Him to account for it?”

Sunday 9 Psalm 147
Monday 10 1 Chronicles 29
Tuesday 11 1 Kings 8
Wednesday 12 Ezekiel 36
Thursday 13 Job 26

Saturday 15 Jeremiah 23

DAILY FOCUS

SUNDAY 9
THE LIMITLESS, ABUNDANT POWER OF GOD IS IMMEASURABLE! “Great is our
Lord, and abundant in power; his understanding is beyond measure. 6 The LORD
lifts up the humble; he casts the wicked to the ground. 7 Sing to the LORD with
thanksgiving; make melody to our God on the lyre…12 Praise the LORD, O
Jerusalem! Praise your God, O Zion! 13 For he strengthens the bars of your gates;
he blesses your children within you.”
Psalm 147 5-13 (ESV)

MONDAY 10
OUR GOD IS GREAT, MIGHTY AND POWERFUL—EXALT HIS GLORIOUS NAME!
11 “Thine, O LORD is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory,
and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is
the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all. 12 Both riches and
honour come of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand is power and
might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all.
13 Now therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious name.”
1Chron 29 11-13 (KJV)

TUESDAY 11
THE LORD ALONE IS GOD—THERE IS NO OTHER! 56
“Praise the LORD who has given rest to his people Israel, just as he promised. Not one word has failed of
all the wonderful promises he gave through his servant Moses. 57 May the LORD
our God be with us as he was with our ancestors; may he never leave us or
abandon us…59 And may these words that I have prayed in the presence of the
LORD be before him constantly, day and night, so that the LORD our God may
give justice to me and to his people Israel, according to each day’s needs.
60 Then people all over the earth will know that the LORD alone is God and there
is no other. 61 And may you be completely faithful to the LORD our God. May
you always obey his decrees and commands, just as you are doing today.”
1 Kings 8 56-61 (NLT)

WEDNESDAY 12
THE POWER OF GOD IS EQUIPPED TO CHANGE THE STONY HEART OF MAN!
“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you
your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. 27 And I will put my Spirit in
you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.” Let’s
pray for the body of Christ to be built up strong in faith; pray for all our unsaved
loved ones as well as the heart and soul of man!
Ezekiel 36 26-27 (NIV)

THURSDAY 13
THE GREATNESS OF GOD IS BEYOND DESCRIPTION, WHO CAN FATHOM HIS
INFINITE POWER? “
5 The spirits of the dead tremble underneath the waters
and their inhabitants… 14 Yet these are just the fringes of His ways [mere
samples of His power], The faintest whisper of His voice! who can contemplate
the thunder of His [full] mighty power?”
Job 26 5-14 (AMP)

FRIDAY 14
EVERYTHING THAT EXIST, EXISTS BY GOD’S POWER! 33 Oh, how great are God’s
riches and wisdom and knowledge! How impossible it is for us to understand his
decisions and his ways! 34 For who can know the LORD’s thoughts? Who knows
enough to give him advice? 35 And who has given him so much that he needs to
pay it back? 36 For everything comes from him and exists by his power and is
intended for his glory. All glory to him forever! Amen.
Romans 11 33-36 (NLT)

SATURDAY 15
IS THERE ANYTHING TOO HARD FOR THE ALL-WISE, ALMIGHTY, ALL POWERFUL GOD? “Behold (listen closely), the days are coming,” says the LORD,
“When I will raise up for David a righteous Branch; and He will reign as King and
act wisely and will do [those things that accomplish] justice and righteousness
in the land. “6 In His days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell safely; now
this is His name by which He will be called; ‘The LORD Our Righteousness.”
Jeremiah 23 5-6 (AMP)

WORD OF ENCOURAGEMENT: Romans 1:16 (KJV) says: “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is thepower of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”

Who are the Children of God?

SCRIPTURE READINGS FOR AUGUST 2-8, 2020
MEDITATION OF THE WEEK: WHO ARE THE CHILDREN OF GOD?

MALACHI 3:16-17 (AMP) “Then those who feared the LORD [with awe-filled reverence] spoke to one another; and the LORD paid attention and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before Him of those who fear the LORD [with an attitude of reverence and respect] and who esteem His name. 17 “They will be Mine,” says the LORD of hosts, “on that day when I publicly recognize them and openly declare them to be My own possession [that is, My very special treasure]. And I will have compassion on them and spare them as a man spares his own son who serves him.”

Sunday 2 Psalm 2
Monday 3 Proverbs 4
Tuesday 4 Romans 8
Wednesday 5 Ezekiel 20
Thursday 6 1 Peter 1
Friday 7 Genesis 3
Saturday 8 1 John 4

DAILY FOCUS

SUNDAY 2
CHILDREN OF GOD WORSHIP AND SERVE THEIR MASTER WITH GREAT REVERENCE!
“Now therefore, O kings, act wisely; be instructed and take warning, O leaders
(judges, rulers) of the earth. 11Worship the LORD and serve Him with reverence [with
awe-inspired fear and submissive wonder]; rejoice [yet do so] with trembling.12 Kiss
(pay respect to) the Son, so that He does not become angry, and you perish in the
way, for His wrath may soon be kindled and set aflame. How blessed [fortunate,
prosperous, and favored by God] are all those who take refuge in Him!”
Psalm 2 10-12 (NIV)

MONDAY 3
INCLINE YOUR EARS—HEAR AND LET YOUR HEART TAKE HOLD OF YOUR
HEAVENLY FATHER’S WORD: “Hear, O children, the instruction of a father, and pay
attention [and be willing to learn] so that you may gain understanding and
intelligent discernment. 2For I give you good doctrine; do not turn away from my
instruction. 3When I was a son with my father (David), tender and the only son in
the sight of my mother (Bathsheba), 4He taught me and said to me, “Let your heart
hold fast my words; Keep my commandments and live.”
Proverbs 4 1-4 (AMP)

TUESDAY 4
CHILDREN OF GOD ARE SPIRITUALLY LED BY HIM AND THEIR HEARTS ARE SET TO
DO HIS WILL! “Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what
the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds
set on what the Spirit desires. 6 The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the
mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. 7 The mind governed by the flesh is
hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. 8 Those who are in
the realm of the flesh cannot please God…14For those who are led by the Spirit of
God are the children of God.”
Romans 8 5-14 (NKJV)

WEDNESDAY 5
SERVANTS OF GOD OBEY THEIR FATHER’S COMMANDS “And I said to their children
in the wilderness, ‘Do not walk in the statutes of your fathers, nor keep their rules,
nor defile yourselves with their idols. 19 I am the LORD your God; walk in my statutes,
and be careful to obey my rules, 20 and keep my Sabbaths holy that they may be a
sign between me and you, that you may know that I am the LORD your God.’ 21 But
the children rebelled against me. They did not walk in my statutes and were not
careful to obey my rules, by which, if a person does them, he shall live; they
profaned my Sabbaths.”
Ezekiel 20 18-21 (AMP)

THURSDAY 6
GOD HAS COMMANDED HIS CHILDREN TO LIVE A HOLY LIFE! “Obey God because
you are his children; don’t slip back into your old ways—doing evil because you
knew no better. 15 But be holy now in everything you do, just as the Lord is holy,
who invited you to be his child. 16 He himself has said, “You must be holy, for I am
holy.”
1 Peter 1 14-16 (TLB)

FRIDAY 7
DISOBEDIENCE TO THE GOD OF ALL CREATION HAS CONSEQUENCES—OUR DUTY,
AS GOD’S CHILDREN, IS TO ALWAYS OBEY OUR HEAVENLY FATHER: “ To Adam he
said, “17 Because you listened to your wife and ate fruit from the tree about which I
commanded you, ‘You must not eat from it,’ Cursed is the ground because of you;
through painful toil you will eat food from it all the days of your life. 18It will
produce thorns and thistles for you, and you will eat the plants of the field. 19By the
sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since from
it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust you will return.”
Genesis 3 17-19 (NIV)

SATURDAY 8
OUR GOD DELIGHTS IN HIS CHILDREN’S LOVE WHICH THEY EXPRESS TOWARDS
EACH OTHER! “Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes
from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God. 8 But anyone who
does not love does not know God, for God is love. 9God showed how much he loved
us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life
through him. 10 This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and
sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins. 11 Dear friends, since God loved us
that much, we surely ought to love each other.”
1 John 4 7-11 (NLT)

WORD OF ENCOURAGEMENT: GALATIANS 3:26 (AMP) says: “For you [who are born-again have been reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, sanctified and] are all children of God [set apart for His purpose with full rights and privileges] through faith in Christ Jesus.”

Tuesday 28 Philippians 1
Wednesday 29 2 Corinthians 4
Thursday 30 Revelation 7
Friday 31 Colossians 2
Saturday 1 Romans 1

DAILY FOCUS

SUNDAY 26
BE THERE AND ENCOURAGE EACH OTHER FOR THE GLORY OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST!
“Take care, brothers and sisters, that there not be in any one of you a wicked,
unbelieving [d]heart [which refuses to trust and rely on the Lord, a heart] that turns away from
the living God. 13 But continually encourage one another every day, as long as it is called “Today”
[and there is an opportunity], so that none of you will be hardened [into settled rebellion] by
the deceitfulness of sin [its cleverness, delusive glamour, and sophistication]. 14 For we
[believers] have become partakers of Christ [sharing in all that the Messiah has for us], if only
we hold firm our newborn confidence [which originally led us to Him] until the end,”
Hebrews 3 Vs 12-14 (AMP)

MONDAY 27
HEAR WHAT THE WORD SAYS AND ACT ACCORDINGLY!
“We [earnestly] urge you, believers, admonish those who are out of line [the undisciplined, the
unruly, the disorderly], encourage the timid [who lack spiritual courage], help the [spiritually]
weak, be very patient with everyone [always controlling your temper]. 15 See that no one repays
another with evil for evil, but always seek that which is good for one another and for all
people. 16 Rejoice always and delight in your faith; 17 be unceasing and persistent in prayer; 18 in
every situation [no matter what the circumstances] be thankful and continually give thanks to
God; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus. 19 Do not quench [subdue, or be
unresponsive to the working and guidance of] the [Holy] Spirit. 20 Do not scorn or reject gifts of
prophecy or prophecies [spoken revelations—words of instruction or exhortation or
warning]. 21 But test [d]all things carefully [so you can recognize what is good]. Hold firmly to that
which is good. 22 Abstain from every form of evil [withdraw and keep away from it].”
1 Thess 5 Vs 14-22 (AMP)

TUESDAY 28
STAND FIRM AND CONDUCT YOURSELVES IN A MANNER WORTHY OF THE GOSPEL
OF CHRIST “Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of
Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you in my absence, I will know that
you stand firm in the one Spirit,[e]striving together as one for the faith of the gospel 28without
being frightened in any way by those who oppose you. This is a sign to them that they will be
destroyed, but that you will be saved—and that by God.29 For it has been granted to you on
behalf of Christ not only to believe in him, but also to suffer for him.”
Philipp 1 Vs 27-29(NIV)
WEDNESDAY 29
LOOK NOT ON THE THINGS THAT ARE SEEN—SEE THE UNSEEN!
“16 Therefore we do not become discouraged [spiritless, disappointed, or afraid]. Though our
outer self is [progressively] wasting away, yet our inner self is being [progressively] renewed day
by day. 17 For our momentary, light distress [this passing trouble] is producing for us an eternal
weight of glory [a fullness] beyond all measure [surpassing all comparisons, a transcendent
splendor and an endless blessedness]! 18 So we look not at the things which are seen, but at the
things which are unseen; for the things which are visible are temporal [just brief and fleeting],
but the things which are invisible are everlasting and imperishable.” Pray as the Spirit of God
leads you.
2 Corinth 4 Vs 16-18 (AMP)
THURSDAY 30
THERE IS HOPE—STAY FOCUSED AND STEADFAST UNTIL THE COMING DAY!
“They shall hunger no more, neither thirst anymore; the sun shall not strike them, nor any
scorching heat.17 For the Lamb in the midst of the throne will be their shepherd, and he will
guide them to springs of living water, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”
Revel 7 Vs 16-17 (NIV)

FRIDAY 31
MAY YOUR HEARTS BE ENCOURAGED BY GOD’S WORD! “For I want you to know how great
a struggle I have on your behalf and for those who are at Laodicea, and for all those who have
not personally seen my face, 2
that their hearts may be encouraged, having been knit together
in love, and attaining to all the wealth that comes from the full assurance of
understanding, resulting in a true knowledge of God’s mystery, that is, Christ Himself,
3 in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. 4 I say this so that no one will
delude you with persuasive argument. 5 For even though I am absent in body, nevertheless I
am with you in spirit, rejoicing to see your good discipline and the stability of your faith in
Christ.”
Coloss 2 Vs 1-5 (NASB)

SATURDAY 1
KEEP THE FAITH – GROW STRONG IN THE LORD! “For I long to visit you so I can bring you some
spiritual gift that will help you grow strong in the Lord. 12When we get together, I want to
encourage you in your faith, but I also want to be encouraged by yours.
13 I want you to know, dear brothers and sisters,[e]
that I planned many times to visit you, but I was prevented until
now. I want to work among you and see spiritual fruit, just as I have seen among other
Gentiles.14 For I have a great sense of obligation to people in both the civilized world and the
rest of the world,[f]
to the educated and uneducated alike. 15 So I am eager to come to you in
Rome, too, to preach the Good News .”
Romans 1 Vs 11-15 (NLT)

WORD OF ENCOURAGEMENT Hebrews 3:13 (NIV) says: “But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.”
